Meet Berniece Baker Miracle
Berniece was 19 years old when she first met her 12-year-old half-sister, Norma. Both girls had a turbulent childhood, and it was a little later in life when Berniece and Norma learned about each other. According to All That's Interesting, in 1944 the two sisters met in person for the first time and became very close. In fact, Berniece is who picked out Marilyn Monroe's casket and burial dress after her sister's tragic passing.

In 1994 Berniece and her daughter wrote a book about Marilyn Monroe titled My Sister Marilyn: A Memoir of Marilyn Monroe. The two were close up until Marilyn's death, and Berniece was always very protective of her younger sister and her legacy.
Berniece's Final Resting Place in the Bluegrass State
Berniece grew up in Kentucky with her father, so it's only right that she was laid to rest in Kentucky after she passed away in 2014 at the age of 94. According to FindAGrave.com she is buried in Pineville, Kentucky at the Pineville Cemetery. If you decide to take the trip to visit her grave, please remember she is someone's loved one and please respect her grave, and the cemetery when you visit.
