Loretta Lynn Exhibit Coming to Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum
Loretta Lynn is the latest artist revealed in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's upcoming exhibit announcements. The country legend's Hall of Fame exhibit will open on Aug. 25 and run through June 2018.
"I am so happy the Country Music Hall of Fame has asked me to be one of their main exhibits in 2017... gonna show off my 50 some odd years in country music," Lynn says (quote via Rolling Stone Country). "They best have a big space... I have a lot of stuff!"
The museum will showcase Lynn's costumes, artifacts and additional personal material from the singer's six decades in country music. Lynn's Hall of Fame exhibit follows the announcements of Shania Twain and Jason Aldean, who will also be spotlighted in 2017 in celebration of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's 50th anniversary. More artists will be revealed through the end of the week on Friday (Jan. 13).
Lynn will mark her upcoming 85th birthday with two performances at Nashville's famed Ryman Auditorium. The singer's birthday falls on April 14, which will be her first of two back-to-back nights at the Mother Church.
Clearly, Lynn doesn’t have plans to slow down anytime soon, despite canceling a handful of shows in September due to a fall and subsequent surgery. The singer also battled glaucoma last year and admitted to trying marijuana for the first time under doctor's orders.
“I got glaucoma and they gave me one of these cigarettes,” Lynn tells People. “I took one smoke off of it and it hit me right here in the chest. I like to have died! Glaucoma is just going to have to take over.”
