Women's Softball Tournament Coming To Wesselman Park

As a former soccer player, I'm always looking for a fun weekend tournament of any sport to pretend like I'm still the soccer player or athlete I was years ago. While my knees will no longer let me pretend long enough to participate, I still love watching some good sports and supporting our tri-state athletes. However, the best-kept secret about these tournaments is all the cool vendors and things happening off the fields. Food trucks, local small business vendors, one-of-a-kind creative pieces, and so much more. These are the hidden gems I'm actually looking for at these events.

What to Expect at the Women's Draft Softball Tournament

On July 11, Wesslman Park will be taken over for the annual Women's Draft softball tournament from 9 am - 9 pm. Over 110 players will be participating, and while registration is closed for this year's event, it will be a great day to celebrate women in the tri-state. There will be over 20 female-owned businesses and vendors present, a selfie station, DJ Lunara will be spinning the best family-friendly soundtrack, and Mayor Terry will be present as well. Food trucks will also be available from Smokin' Roux, Alien Icicles, Dirty Sodas, and more. Lilah's Photobooth will be on hand for those memory-maker moments. All raffle proceeds will go to the Susan H. Snyder Center through the Evansville Rescue Mission. The center and the mission provide shelter, support, and resources for women and children experiencing homelessness or crisis. Grab your girlfriends and come out for a fun day of celebrating women!
