You may or may not be surprised by these ten Kentucky cities that were recently ranked as the safest in the entire state for 2026.
When you think of Kentucky overall, you don't really associate it with crime. Sure, criminal acts happen all of the time, but that's not typically the stereotype that goes with the Bluegrass State. That being said, we still see so much on the news about crime, and the increasing amounts of criminal activity across the state. It makes you stop and take a look at your area and wonder how safe it actually is. Well, as it turns out, if you live in one of these Kentucky cities, you are in luck when it comes to safety because they rank among the safest in the entire state.

A recent study from Safewise highlights the 10 safest cities in Kentucky in 2026. Safewise used the most recent FBI-reported violent and property crime data, and adjusted for population so that they could compare cities of different sizes fairly. 116 Kentucky cities met the criteria for ranking this year.
