Dreams of being an Olympic Curler? You can give it a try to see if you have what it takes in Kentucky.

The Milano Cortina Winter Olympics officially began on Friday, February 6th. Winter sports such as figure skating, hockey, skiing, snowboarding, and bobsledding are among some of the most popular sports to watch. That being said, the one Winter Olympic sport that I cannot stop watching is curling. It's the one sport that I watch, and I think to myself that I could probably do that. It looks calm, controlled, and strategic. Could that be my ticket to becoming an Olympic Gold Medalist?

Well, of course, I am not alone in that thought. However, is it really as easy as it looks? Probably not. Either way, there's only one way to find out if it's a sport that you or I could sink our teeth into. That's by trying it out firsthand. Luckily for us, Kentucky has a facility where you can learn how to curl just like the Olympians.

Learn How To Curl in Kentucky

These men and women make it look so easy and fun. If you want to try your hand at curling, there's a facility in Louisville that will teach you everything you need to know about the sport. Derby City Curling Club plays at Alpine Ice Arena from late November to the end of March. Not only is this a club dedicated to the sport of curling, but they also offer classes to teach people of all ages how to play. According to their website:

We offer Learn To Curl classes throughout the season. Classes include an overview of the sport including how teams are comprised and how scoring works. We teach you how to deliver a stone, sweeping, a little bit of strategy, and conclude with a short game among the classes’s participants.

Classes to learn how to curl with the Derby City Curling Club run all throughout their season. As it turns out, there are still two dates left for you to sign up to learn how to curl with them. You can learn more about those classes and sign up by clicking here.
