Old Farmer’s Almanac Fall 2026 Forecast for Kentucky and Indiana
When will it finally cool off in Kentucky and Indiana? Here's what the Old Farmer's Almanac predicts for fall.
We have been experiencing a pretty hot and humid summer in the Bluegrass and Hoosier States. It has been a hot summer mess. We just got through a heatwave, but temperatures in the upper 80s and lower 90s continue. On top of that, the very humid weather doesn't seem to have an end in sight. A little relief from the heat and humidity would be nice, right? Our only hope is that fall will deliver some sort of break from the humidity. The question is, will it be a hot Autumn in Kentucky and Indiana or not?

Old Farmer's Almanac Fall 2026 Predictions for Kentucky and Indiana
If you are currently dreaming of crisp Autumn evenings and all things pumpkin spice, you're probably going to like what the Old Farmer's Almanac has to say about the upcoming fall in Kentucky and Indiana. The Old Farmer's Almanac is predicting a "cool and dry" fall for the two states. That's certainly a sigh of relief for those who have been braving the heat and experiencing a ton of rainfall this summer.

The northern half of Indiana is in the Lower Lakes Region, while the southern half of the state and all of Kentucky are located in the Ohio Valley. Here's exactly what The Old Farmer's Almanac says about fall in Kentucky and Indiana this year:
Lower Lakes
September will be cooler than average before temperatures return to near average in October. Rainfall is expected to be near average in September, then trend slightly below average in October.
Ohio Valley
September will be cooler than average before temperatures return closer to normal in October. Western areas are expected to receive up to 3 inches less rainfall this fall, while eastern portions are expected to be slightly drier than average.

I think it's important to keep in mind that this is simply a prediction, and no amount of fancy technology, atmospheric tracking, or whatever they use to create this forecast is 100% accurate. That being said, the glimmer of hope that the heat will not be sticking around too much longer is much needed!
