My pup Freddie LOVES to play in the water. He is a Golden Retriever, so it is definitely in his genetic makeup to splash and have fun.  His favorite thing to do right after getting soaking wet is to roll around in the dirt or mud! So, poor Freddie doesn't get a lot of pool time. Plus, he is getting to be too big for Michael to safely plop in and drag out.

I follow some Golden Retriever accounts on social media because their derpy selves bring me so much joy. I was once called a "Golden Retriever human" which, I'm not sure how to feel about, but I think I will take it as a compliment that I am fun-loving! Look at this sweet baby who loves to swim so much, his person caught him in the pool when he wasn't supposed to be.

Freddie and Duke aren't the only pups who love a nice doggy paddle moment. That's why Owensboro Parks and Recreation is hosting its annual Gone to the Dogs swim party at Combest Pool! I have some friends who have attended in the past and had a ball (literally and figuratively.) There were contests for best tricks and best costumes and which pooch could shake the most water off. So cute!
