Born and raised in Owensboro, KY, She spent four awesome years at The University of Louisville earning her degree in Communications and Political Science. Her friends used to tease her because she talked about her love for Owensboro so much while she was away. Always involved in the community, lots of people know her as M-Kat. This nickname was given to her by the kiddos in the youth program at Theatre Workshop of Owensboro where she has been a lifelong volunteer. She paints sets, directs, performs and everything in between. Mary-Katherine turns her passion for inclusivity and helping others into action by serving on the board of directors for the Daniel Pitino Shelter, Prism Arts Alliance, and Girls Incorporated of Owensboro-Daviess County. She also loves supporting Puzzle Pieces at their Annual Lip Sync Battle and at events throughout the year. SPARKY (Saving Paws Animal Rescue of Kentucky) is also near and dear to her heart. You can sometimes find her whoopin’ it up at karaoke or vintage treasure hunting. It’s totally not hoarding if the stuff is cool! She even “remixes” the old paintings she finds into new pop-culture-inspired art. Her favorite thing to do, though, is spend time with her husband Michael AKA Hunkasaurus Rex and her son Rollins, who is amazingly smart, kind, creative, and keeps everybody laughing. They have an old grumpy cat named Swayze, a goofy Golden Retriever named Freddie, and a precious rescue pup named Duane.
