Here are the Pike County Animal Welfare Pets that Need Emergency Fosters After Sundays Storms
Massive Temperature Drop Follows Overnight Storms
Last night, a line of storms moved through the tri-state and dragged a powerful cold front with it. We were enjoying 70 degree temperatures yesterday, and by last night it had dropped to close to 20 degrees. That is nearly a 50 degree swing.
Anytime a cold front slams into warm air, it can create dangerous weather conditions. The National Weather Service did issue tornado warnings during the storms, but we got lucky overall. Much of the tri-state avoided major damage.

Pike County Animal Welfare Center Needs Help
Unfortunately, the Pike County Animal Welfare Center, a no-kill shelter in Petersburg, was damaged during the storms.
Because of that, they are asking the community to step up and help foster or adopt the animals currently in their care. Their building can only house a limited number of animals right now, and every bit of help makes a difference.
I have fostered from this shelter and the gals there are wonderful to work with. They need all the help they can get right now.
Animals That Need a Foster
Both dogs and cats need a place to crash while the employees assess damage and get it fixed. Ashlee Willis posted these precious pups and kitties. They suggest you head over to their Petfinder if you see an animal you'd like to foster to get details on that pet.
They are located at 4224 N Meridian Rd. in Petersburg. Feel free to call at (812) 354-9894 to see if an animal is available but they are very busy at this time. They posted that interested fosters may stop by Monday morning before 11:30am or come on their normal business days/hours. They are open Tuesday - Friday from 8 to 11:30 am and 4 to 6 pm and Saturday from 8 to 11:30 am.
