There have been lots of rumors over the past year about Disney bringing a development project to Illinois, and it would be a homecoming of sorts since Walt Disney was born on Chicago's northwest side.

While there's not been any movement on that $1 billion dollar project, there has been confirmation of Disney opening an immersive experience in the Land of Lincoln that every Mickey Mouse fan will want to visit.

Exhibit Opening in Walt Disney Company's 100th Anniversary Year

On Oct. 16 the Walt Disney Company will celebrate its centennial anniversary and just over a month later 'Disney100: The Exhibition' will open up in the 35,000-square-foot Exhibition Art Hub Center in Chicago, according to ABC7.

"More than 250 artifacts and works of art, costumes and props, and other incredible memorabilia" will be on display for Disney fans beginning November 18, according to the official website.

Ten imaginatively themed galleries showcasing renowned classics from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) to Encanto (2021), including the latest members of the Disney family – Pixar, Star Wars, and MARVEL!

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as Disney "opens its vault of historical and special treasures, works of art, artifacts, costumes, and memorabilia."

Tickets for Disney Exhibit Will Go On-Sale Next Week

There's a waitlist you can sign up for updates on Disney100: The Exhibition tickets as they go on sale at 10 am on Thursday, September 14.

According to ABC7, the exhibit will run through at least early 2024 at the former Windy City Fieldhouse location at 2367 W. Logan Blvd.
