Illinois Ranked a Top 3 College State in America
I am always happy to share good news about Illinois since the national media seems to enjoy sharing the negative stuff. In a new national survey, Illinois was ranked as one of the top college states in America.
SmileHub just shared an interesting breakdown of the best college states in America based on a ton of data where they "compared each of the 50 states based on 28 key metrics".
With the 28 key metrics, they broke it down to 3 important categories: Education Quality & Support Rank, Social Life Rank and Economic Environment Rank. Illinois ranked in the top 5 for the first two categories, but came in 32nd in the economic environment rank. Illinois was also given props for the quantity of nightlife and state funding for higher education. Those two factors played a large role in Illinois scoring so high when it comes to the quality of college life.
Isn't it nice for a change to hear something positive about Illinois when the national narrative always seems to focus on the negative? Yes, Illinois has its challenges, but every other state does, too. College life in the Land of Lincoln looks like one that you can put in the win column.
