The Square Improvement Project in Boonville has caused several residents to address concerns over the traffic patterns. Indiana Department of Transportation has made some recent changes to the traffic control concerns and addressed those concerns. There have been many changes to the traffic control on the square in the past few months that have caused a lot of questions and concerns. This is yet another change in an effort to make the traffic flow as smoothly as possible in the midst of the Square Improvement Project.

To address these concerns, stop signs have been added to Main Street at the Third Street intersection and on Locust Street at the Second Street intersection. Both of these intersections are now 3 way stops. Main Street at the Second Street intersection and Locust Street at the Third street intersection are NOT 3 way stops.

So to reiterate, there are only TWO 3 way stops on the Square now. You can see the visual below. Both 3 way stop intersections are circled in red.

INDOT would also like to remind residents that  both Main and Locust Streets are INDOT jurisdiction and the City does not have control over MOT Changes of these streets. So, any questions or concerns should be addressed with INDOT, not the city of Boonville.
