Indiana Steakhouse Named Among America’s Top 25 List
Indiana is home to one of the best steakhouses in the entire country.
Going out to eat in Indiana can get pretty expensive, especially if you are feeding the whole family. That being said, sometimes it's nice to treat yourself to a nice dinner where you don't have to take the time to cook and dirty up any dishes. Personally, I would never turn down a good steak. According to a survey in this Fox News story, I'm not alone. The survey says that steak is America's favorite meal, and steak is also what nearly 66 percent of Americans say they would have as their LAST meal too.
We have no shortage of amazing steakhouses in Indiana. Many people like to hit up the big chain steakhouses when they go out to eat, but you can't sleep on some of the delicious local steakhouses that we have in the state. One of those steakhouses is no stranger to the limelight.

Indiana Steakhouse Among America's Best
There's a brand new list of the 25 best steakhouses in America just shared by Cheapism. You'll find one Indiana steakhouse on that list, and for most Hoosiers, it's a no-brainer. That honor goes to St. Elmo Steak House in downtown Indianapolis. This establishment is pretty iconic here in Indiana. You'll see some of their products sold in grocery stores throughout the state, and it even made national television when it was featured on the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation.
Here's what Cheapism had to say about St. Elmo Steakhouse:
Open since 1902, the wood-paneled St. Elmo has more than history on its side — it’s also a James Beard Award winner for American Classics. While reviewers give the steaks high praise, they also say you can’t go wrong with another St. Elmo mainstay: the shrimp cocktail.
Now, I must admit that I have never been to St. Elmo Steakhouse, but I have heard nothing but good things about it. The steakhouse is one that I would love to visit the next time I visit. While I would love to enjoy that Tomahawk Rib-eye, I might venture for a cheaper option. Speaking of St. Elmo Steakhouse, they sell some of their seasoning, sauces, and liquor in stores all throughout Indiana. I've tried their Root Beer Gaze on pork chops and it is delicious!
