Skyline Chili was started in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is one of those places that midwesterners seem to obsess over. Personally, I'm not much of a chili guy, so it's never been my favorite place. That said, I've been a few times over the years and have friends that absolutely love the menu. While at Skyline Chili, you can order their famous chili in a bowl, over fries, burritos, spaghetti noodles, and, of course, over hot dogs. It's a vibe for sure.
The Cincinnati-based restaurant currently has over a hundred locations spread across four states. In addition to Ohio, you can find Skyline Chili in Indiana, Kentucky, and even Florida. In Indiana, there are 12 Skyline Chili dining locales, with nearly half of those in the Indianapolis area. The only Skyline Chili in the southern part of the state would be the one in New Albany, Indiana, but that particular stop has just announced some sad news for chili fans.
According to WDRB, employees at the restaurant, located at 3505 Grant Line Rd., said the building will be closing permanently on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. The details surrounding the closure have not been made public. Those wishing to curb their Skyline Chili cravings in the southern part of the Hoosier State can still find locations in Lousiville, Kentucky, which is just on the other side of New Albany, Indiana.
