Indiana Has One Thing Bigger than Any Other State and It’s Odd

Indiana holds the record for something bigger than anything like it in the country, but I guarantee it's not what you'd expect.

When you think of Indiana, you might first think of the Indianapolis 500. Perhaps you associate the state with a team like IU, Notre Dame, Purdue, Colts, or the Pacers. Some will associate it as the birthplace of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Indiana is the Crossroads of America, but no matter what you associate the state with, we have something bigger than any other state, and it might be the last thing you'd associate with the Hoosier state.

Let me get straight to the point here. The website, Zippia, shared a fun graphic showing what each state has that's bigger than any other state. It appears that every state has something to be proud of, no matter how odd it might be. From the holiest tongue to the largest parade of fire trucks, heck, even the biggest diaper cake, there’s something for everyone to enjoy when it comes to records.

So What Does Indiana Have That's Bigger Than Any Other State in America?

Like I said, it's something that's pretty odd, and you probably had no idea that Indiana staked claim to this record. Zippia revealed that Indiana is home to the largest high heel race. You read that correctly, the largest high heel race, not just in the country, but the whole world.

The largest high heel race was achieved by 967 participants at an event organised by Women's Bureau, Inc. (USA) at Headwaters Park in Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA, on 11 September 2010. The attempt raised funds to support counseling for victims of sexual assault in Fort Wayne.
