Henderson Police Conducting Sobriety Checkpoints Friday and Saturday
Officers with the Henderson Police Department will working to keep residents safe from those who choose to get behind the wheel after drinking through sobriety checkpoints Friday and Saturday (August 16th and 17th, 2019).
According to our media partners at Eyewitness News, "the checkpoints are designed to keep impaired drivers off the roads. It also promotes safety." The article does not mention where and when the checkpoints will be conducted which is common when any Tri-State law enforcement agency sets up sobriety checkpoints. I imagine it's difficult to catch impaired drivers if they know where you are and can avoid the area.
Regardless of whether or not there are plans for a sobriety checkpoint anywhere in the Tri-State, you should always have a plan to get home after a night out that you know will involve having a few drinks. Between ride-sharing services, cab companies, and the good ol' fashioned designated driver, there are plenty of options other than getting behind the wheel and putting yourself and others at risk.
