Free Plane Rides for Kentucky Kids at Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport
Before the flight takes off, the pilot will explain what to expect including sights, sounds, and how airplanes work. Kids will learn how to read aeronautical maps and get a closer look at the inner-workings of the plane and control panel. The flight itself will last around 15-20 minutes from take-off to landing.
This event is especially for youth ages 8-17 years old and it is important to note that passengers will need to listen carefully to instructions given by the pilot. Safety is the number one concern.
This event takes place the morning of Saturday, July 15th at the Ayer Flying Club located on the Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport Grounds. Flights are scheduled into hour time slots.
My son, Rollins, asked me to sign him up for a ride so I will be sure to report back how it goes! Along with the flight, kids receive a laundry list of free and exciting opportunities through an EAA membership such as FREE admission to 300+ science and technology museums and online flying courses.
Registration is limited to 100 participants so sign up now! If you miss the chance to join the fun here in Owensboro, there are other free flight days in the surrounding area!
