Today is Cinco de Mayo and there will be hundreds of Americanized celebrations across the land even though most probably don't even know what is being celebrated. It is a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride in the U.S. The day marks one of the most unlikely victories for the Mexican army and it took place in the state of Puebla.

It was General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguin that led his army into battle against the French and defeated the French Army on May 5, 1862 in what became known as the Battle of Puebla.

Many believe that Cinco de Mayo celebrates Mexican Independence Day, which it does not. Mexico's most patriotic holiday occurs on September 16th.

As you begin your celebration, please start with a version of the Mexican Hat Dance like no other you have seen or heard courtesy of the Four Squeezins. You will be able to do this as well without using your hands......just eat a lot of guacamole...enjoy and FELIZ CINCO DE MAYO!!!
