Evil Dead Double Feature Drive-In Tour Making A Stop in the Tri-State
The 1981 horror film is making the rounds at U.S. drive-ins and will be making a stop in the Tri-State! Grindhouse Releasing has been hosting a tour of Evil Dead 1 & 2 all summer long. The Sam Raimi horror classic will be showing at the Holiday Drive-In in Rockport on Friday September 18th, and Saturday September 19th. According to the dates on GrindhouseReleasing.com it will be both Evil Dead 1 & 2 playing back to back.
The original Evil Dead was released in 1981 and since then the film franchise has become a cult classic among horror lovers. It was a low budget film that took only about $350,000 to make. If you haven't seen Evil Dead, here's the synopsis:
Ashley "Ash" Williams (Bruce Campbell), his girlfriend and three pals hike into the woods to a cabin for a fun night away. There they find an old book, the Necronomicon, whose text reawakens the dead when it's read aloud. The friends inadvertently release a flood of evil and must fight for their lives or become one of the evil dead. Ash watches his friends become possessed, and must make a difficult decision before daybreak to save his own life in this, the first of Sam Raimi's trilogy.
Personally, I really like the Evil Dead movies. I even liked the 2013 remake of the original, although I don't think anything compares to the original. It's that old school horror, that has some humor, and the right amount of gore. Check out the trailer below.
