Evansville Fire & EMS Gathering Donations for Kentucky Tornado Relief
Scott Township Fire and EMS is asking for donations to help those in Kentucky affected by the tornadoes over Memorial Day Weekend.
On Sunday, May 26th, a line of storms in Western Kentucky produced a pretty significant tornado. The storm tore through Marshall County and tracked through Lyon, Caldwell, and Hopkins County before finally losing its strength and falling apart in Muhlenberg County. In some areas, the damage is quite extensive. The areas of Dawson Springs, Earlington, and Eddyville Kentucky were devastated by storm damage last night.
That's why Scott Township Fire and EMS in Evansville, Indiana is turning to the community to help those who were affected by Sunday's tornado in Western Kentucky. Scott Township Fire and EMS took to social media to announce that they are currently accepting donations to send a trailer of supplies down to help with relief efforts. Items that are needed for this relief drive include:
- Drinking water/Gatorade
- Body wash wipes
- Totes with wheels
- Gas /gas cans
- Chain saws
- Wheel barrels
- Shovels
- Rakes
- Tarps
- Hammers
- Nails
- Hygiene supplies
- Trash bagsBatteries
- Battery flood lights
Those wanting to send supplies to these areas in Kentucky to help with the recent natural disaster can drop off items at Scott Station One, located at 1540 East Baseline Road in Evansville.
