No Cost Health Services Event Comes to Henderson

Military personnel will be offering vision, dental, sports physicals, nutritional/dietitian, and basic medical services at no cost in Henderson throughout June.

It's no secret that healthcare is expensive. Many out there simply can't afford insurance AND stay afloat with other everyday costs. Therefore, it makes it almost impossible for some to get the wellness care that they need. That's why the Delta Regional Authority (DRA) and the U.S. Department of War are partnering to bring another medical mission to Western Kentucky, thanks to the Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) program.

For those who aren't familiar, the Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) is a collaborative program that leverages military contributions and community resources to multiply value and cost savings for participants. So, in this case, service members will provide the community with medical, dental, optometry, hearing, mental health, and other services. Service members will benefit from real-world medical training, while the community partner will benefit from no-cost medical care.

Green River Area Wellness No-Cost Healthcare Services

The Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) is coming back to Henderson from June 11th through 21st. During this event, military personnel will offer vision, dental, sports physicals, nutritional/dietitian, and basic medical services at no cost. This year, the event will be hosted at Henderson County North Middle School.

While the event is taking place in Henderson, Kentucky, there are some things you might want to know. First off, you don't have to live in Henderson to take advantage of these services. There are no residency or income requirements to take advantage of these no-cost services. That being said, this is only for people in the community aged three and up.

So, if you have no insurance and need to get a wellness exam, vision exam, and/or dental exam, this event is for you. Not just that, but if you have a student who needs a sports physical completed for the upcoming school year, this is a perfect no-cost event for something like that as well.
