Equifax Issues Settlement for 2017 Data Breach
Does Equifax owe you money from having its data breached? Back in 2017 Equifax had it's data breached and millions of Americans were adversely affected. So in order to compensate, Equifax has issued settlement through the Federal Trade Commission and all you have to do is check to see if YOU were affected.
Customers can either select to receive FREE credit monitoring for up to 10 years or a check for at least $125 or more depending on how bad your profile was damaged. I decided to see if my data had been breached and if I was eligible for a portion of the settlement and to my surprise, I was. And since, I already have credit monitoring through Credit Karma, I elected to receive to $125 check.
