The world is talking about the new Netflix docuseries, "Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness," but did you know that the town of Lynnville had a small role in the show?

The saga of Joe Exotic and his arch nemesis, Carole Baskin has been the break from the coronivirus crisis that we all needed. I finished watching it over the weekend, Holy Cow! One crazy thing after another! If you haven't seen it yet, do yourself a favor and watch the insanity that is "Tiger King" and it's crazy cast of characters.

One of the people in the show is Tim Stark, who owns Wildlife In Need in Charlestown, Indiana, about 2 1/2 hours from Evansville. I won't go into details about his role in the docuseries because I don't want to spoil any of the show for you, but I will spoil one thing about the show. One scene that featured Tim Stark was filmed in Lynnville, Indiana. Did you see it on the show?

Lynnville is quickly showed in two scenes on the last episode. If you go to the 31:26 mark of episode seven, there's a scene where Tim is getting gas and walking into the gas station. It should look very familiar to you, if you have been to Lynnville.

That could be any Casey's General Store in Indiana, right? However, a few seconds later, it cuts to a scene of him leaving the gas station. That's when it becomes very apparent that the scene was filmed right here in the Tri-State. You'll see the Marathon gas station right across the street at the intersection where you come into Lynnville off of I-64.

Oh and if you need proof - here's the same angle on Google Street View.

If you need a good distraction from COVID-19, check out "Tiger King" on Netflix. Not only will you see the town of Lynnville, but you will also see such things as:

  • Tigers
  • Cults
  • Missing person
  • Murder for hire
  • More tigers
  • Polygamy
  • Really bad country songs (like comically bad)
  • Guns
  • Explosions
  • A man who rides an elephant around his neighborhood
  • Internet drama
  • Drugs
  • Arson
  • MORE TIGERS
  • A mullet
  • A millionaire who comes out of nowhere
  • Tigers in casinos
  • An unsavory eyebrow ring hanging on for dear life

I couldn't make all of that up even if I tried. It's crazy, yet entertaining to say the least. Check out the trailer for the show below.
