Combs Garden Center Is Closing It’s Doors
After 35 years of being the premier landscaping a garden center for the Tristate, Combs Garden Center is closing it's doors.
WKDQ has a long friendship with Comb's and the people who work there. We are very sad to report that they will no longer be filling the area with beautiful plants and trees. According to sources, May 14th will be their last day.
WEHT interviewed owner, Chris Combs, back in February and he had this to say,
"It started with a dream, 100 dollars, and a lawnmower when I was twelve years old. Its just a chapter of my life that's been a great chapter and I've decided to move on. I started in the backyard of my mom and dads house off Covert Avenue. I was mowing three fourths of an acre for two bucks. I started pretty young, I incorporated Combs Landscape when I was 17 years old, still in high school."
As for his future.....
You look at how old you are, where you are headed, and what your passion is, and my passion is with the home building now and that's why I've decided to finish up my career in something I'm most excited about."
Although very sad to see the end of Combs Garden Center, WKDQ wishes you the best with your upcoming endeavors!
