You may or may not be surprised by these ten Indiana cities that were ranked as the safest in the entire state.
When you think of Indiana overall, you don't really associate it with crime. Sure, criminal acts happen all of the time, but that's not typically the stereotype that goes with Indiana. I mean Indiana isn't even one of the top ten most dangerous states in the country. That being said, we still see so much on the news about crime, and the increasing amounts of criminal activity across the state. It makes you stop and take a look at your area and wonder how safe it actually is. Well, as it turns out, if you live in one of these Indiana cities, you are in luck when it comes to safety because they rank among the safest in the entire state.
The Safest Cities in Indiana
The folks over at Reolink recently determined the ten safest places to live in Indiana. This isn't one of those things that is based on opinion, in fact, they used cold hard data to come to their conclusion. According to Reolink:
To determine the safest cities in Indiana, we looked at the most recent FBI Uniform Crime Report data. Specifically, we analyzed violent crime rates and property crime rates in cities across Indiana. Violent crime includes offenses like murder, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. Property crime includes burglary, theft, and motor vehicle theft.
Other factors that contribute to how safe a city feels include:
-Police response times
-Community involvement and neighborhood watch programs
-Prevalence of crime-fighting technology like security cameras and street lighting
-City planning and environmental design
By looking at the hard data around crime rates plus these other qualitative factors, we can get a sense of which cities provide the safest environments for residents.

So, which cities in Indiana are among the ten safest? Let's take a look!
