When it comes to bacon, you can't go wrong, right? Apparently, you can if you buy this brand.

Bacon makes everything better. Put it on a burger, chop it up and mix it with green beans, fry it up and use the leftover grease to make eggs, heck it's even good on pizza. However you choose to use it, it's always good. The big debate when it comes to bacon is how you like it served. Crunchy or chewy. Personally, I only like it crunchy. The crunchier the better! I think we all can agree that you really can't go wrong with bacon...unless it's turkey bacon. That's just bacon lying about being bacon. However, that's a debate for another day.

Recently, there was a survey of the worst bacon brands in America revealed that both are available in stores in Indiana. The survey was conducted by 24/7 Wall Street. While the taste and preference of bacon are subjective, here's how they determined the worst bacon brand in America:

To compile this list, 24/7 Wall St. consulted seven different food websites, blogs, and vlogs. We also referenced customer reviews on retail store websites. Since bacon preference is highly subjective, we used an aggregate scoring system to rate the bacon brands that received the most negative ratings among our sources.

America’s Worst Bacon Brand is Sold in Abundance in Indiana

So, when you go to the store and buy bacon, is there a certain brand that you are loyal to or do you just go with the cheapest option? Most of the time, my family goes with the latter. As it turns out, by doing that, we have purchased the worst bacon brand in America countless times. The bacon brand named the worst in America is sold right here in Indiana, and I would be willing to bet that you have purchased it a time or two as well.

According to 24/7 Wall Street, the worst bacon brand in America is Great Value Hickory Smoked Bacon. Yes, the Walmart brand of bacon. Apparently, the value isn't that great. Great Value brand bacon is available at 133 Walmart locations in Indiana.

What makes the Great Value brand the worst in America? 24/7 Wall Street says:

Great Value’s Hickory Smoked Bacon has just 2.3 stars out of a 5-star ranking on Walmart’s website. There are 400 1-star reviews. This is enough to signal that this is a horrendously bad product.

Some customers noted the bacon had turned brown or gray even though it had not reached the expiration date yet. Many refer to the inferior packaging, saying the seal was damaged when they purchased it.

Now, I know that Great Value foods get a bad reputation a lot, but I have never had any issues with the brand's bacon. Granted, some Great Value foods aren't my first option and I'd rather have the name brand of certain foods, I don't think Great Value foods are THAT bad. In any event, I'm quite sure that I'll still be purchasing Great Value bacon...mainly because I am cheap.
