The world's largest LEGO display at a museum in Illinois features over one million bricks.

One Of The Greatest Toys In History

In my opinion, one of the greatest toys of all time has to be LEGOS. When I was a kid, I would spend hours playing with them and building massive structures. I had a huge crate filled to the top with bricks and accessories. I am not going to lie, it was pretty impressive for one kid.

Back when I was growing up, the LEGO sets were pretty basic. I usually just created my own projects. Nowadays, the whole world of building things out of the bricks has definitely taken it to the next level. In some cases, they are considered works of art. It is amazing the things they can put together.

There Are Some Great Museums In Illinois

In the state of Illinois, there are some great museums. No matter when you visit, there are some incredible exhibits to check out. That is enough to keep you and your family busy for a long time. Most of them will also bring in special temporary displays that are awesome too. For example, over the summer the Museum of Science and Industry hosted Marvel. Now, is time for the next one and I am very excited.

World's Largest LEGO Art Exhibit Opens In Chicago

The next traveling exhibit to visit the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago will feature that popular toy I was talking about earlier. That is LEGO. It is called "The Art of the Brick" by artist Nathan Sawaya who created over a hundred pieces with over one million bricks.

Some of the highlights include a twenty-foot Tyrannosaurus Rex, Michelangelo’s "David," Van Gogh’s "Starry Night" and Da Vinci’s "Mona Lisa." Plus, the photographer, Dean West, will have some special photos on display too.
