Jon Prell

I have been at WKDQ for 13 years and have loved every minute of it. My career started in Southern California and I arrived in Evansville in 1994. I have three children that keep me very busy and the rare opportunity to go out and not have a six foot mouse serving your table is a rare and welcome treat. I love motorcycles and classic country and even host the WKDQ Country Classics show every Saturday from 6-10am. If I can I can ever play a song for you, let me know at wkdq.com.

I was on the air on WKDQ when I heard a sound bite on the ABC newscast I was recording about a small plane hitting one of the World Trade Center towers. I was just coming out of a break, made the announcement about what I had heard and said we would have an update after the song, not having any clue of what had just occurred.

There Is Now A World Record For The Most Pull-Ups With Pinkie Fingers [Video]

Pull-ups are hard enough to do, right guys? Imagine for just one second, doing a pull-up using only your two pinkie fingers. Sounds Impossible, right? I can barely lift my key ring with my pinkie, let alone lift myself above a metal bar.

The debate about textbook rental fees in Indiana schools has been raging for years with good arguments on both sides. According to the State Constitution of 1816, public education is to be provided free of charge, which makes you wonder about the policy of parents paying huge fees for the use of textbooks.

Walmart Low-Wage Workers Upset Over New Dress Code That Will Cost Them Money

If a uniform is required in the workplace, who should pay for it? In most cases there is shared cost for both the employer and employee, but Walmart has changed their worker dress code and the workers are stuck with the cost, which is not going over well with the low-wage employees.

CVS To Make A Big Change Earlier Than Expected – No More Tobacco Sales

Earlier in the year, CVS, the nation's second biggest drugstore chain, announced it would stop selling tobacco products in it's stores beginning October 1st.
