Social media.  There is no escaping it these days; it is no surprise that teens are particularly adept at social media and just can't seem to post enough selfies. Well, a new study says 54% of today's teens think their lives would be much better without social media. That's right....WITHOUT social media. Regardless, more than 90% of teens use social media, especially those sites driven by photos and video.

Another interesting part of the survey said that 96% of teens in this country are NOT satisfied with their smile and teeth, and are very insecure about their overall appearance, citing social media as the driving force behind their insecurity.

Most teens, 94%, feel that they are being judged based solely on their appearance on social media and that perception of their appearance will influence their popularity.

The teens believe that they would be able to portray a much more accurate picture of who they are in person....you know, one on one, as opposed to on social media. In spite of the negative perception teens have about how they look on social media sites, good luck trying to get them to stop posting selfies on Facebook and Instagram.
