Allergies can hit pretty hard this time of year, especially if you live in these Kentucky cities!

If you're like me, the weather we experience this time of year here in Kentucky really messes with your allergies. The flowers are blooming, the farmers are in the field, and you're sneezing and rubbing your eyes all day long. It's spring, and with that comes seasonal allergies for many in the Bluegrass State. It seems like most of the people I know tend to struggle around this time when it comes to allergies. In fact, my household has been hit very hard with allergies recently. There are many factors that contribute to seasonal allergies. I mean, you name it, and Kentucky has it. Tree pollen, grass pollen, weed pollen, and the air itself, in some cases. Oh, and 2025 is shaping up to be the worst season for allergies yet, according to a new study!

Worst Cities for Allergies in Kentucky

Lawn Love compiled data that shows where allergies are the most obnoxious in the nation. They ranked nearly 500 cities that struggle with seasonal allergies. The study identified the most relevant factors for ranking the Worst Cities for Grass Allergies This Summer and grouped them into three categories:

  • Allergy Risk
  • Allergen Severity
  • Detection and Treatment

Of the 500 cities in this study, surprisingly, only two Kentucky cities were among the worst in America. Luckily, none of these cities was near the worst. That being said, the chances of your allergies going haywire near these eight cities are pretty high!

The highest rated Kentucky city on this list was Louisville, coming in at number 72. Then, you'll have to scroll all the way down to number 440 on the list to find Lexington. Look, I get it. These are the two biggest cities in Kentucky, but to only have them on this list doesn't really feel right to me. Indiana had eight cities, so I know places like Owensboro, Bowling Green, and Henderson, among others, should have been included. Allergies are just as bad in those parts of Kentucky.

That being said, if you live in Kentucky and think your allergies are bad, perhaps they aren't as bad as the allergies that folks in those cities are dealing with. In any event, do you feel like your neck of the woods in Kentucky is bad when it comes to allergies? If so, I am sure you aren't alone!
