Congrats to UCONN

The other night, history was made in college basketball when the UCONN women's basketball team won their 89th consecutive game breaking the old record of 88 games set by John Wooden's UCLA Bruins in the early '70's. It is unfortunate that women's sports does not get the recognition they should get for what they accomplish. Winning 89 straight games is a huge accomplishment for any team in any sport and the fact it was a women's team makes it something to really celebrate. There are some incredible girl's and women's sports teams here in the tri-state that deserve the attention of the fans and the media. Some of the most exciting soccer is played right here in the Evansville area by the local girl's teams. The next time to go see a basketball game at the high school or college level and the women are playing first, do yourself a favor and get there early to catch the action...it is well worth it. Go for it ladies!!! and congrats to the UCONN Lady Huskies!
