Visit Evansville Seeking Your Input on Tourism Investments
As we look forward to the eventual return of festivals, events, and the ability to get out and do, well, anything (and yes, I firmly believe those days will return), the Downtown Evansville Economic Improvement District, is looking for your help in deciding what types of attractions you would like to see our city offer.
If you've ever thought, "you know what would be great, if we had a __________," but ended it there because you didn't know who to tell that might be able to do something about it, this is your chance to have your opinion be heard. For example, I'd love to see the city have an outdoor amphitheater for concerts again. Mesker Amphitheater next to the Zoo was great in its day, but sat right in the middle of a neighborhood. I liked going to shows there, but I wouldn't want to live anywhere near it. I think we need something out in some rural part of the county like the Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, outside Indianapolis which sits in the middle of a cornfield miles away from any residential areas. I don't think we need something quite that big, but I know there are enough areas in the northern part of the county that would be a great spot for one.
Sharing your thoughts is super easy. Downtown Evansville has created an online survey for you to fill out featuring 13 questions, some of which are questions with a text box letting you answer with whatever your thoughts are on that particular question, while others offer a variety of possible ideas you can rate on a scale of one to five based on how interested you would be in the city attempting to make them a reality.
