VHS Offering Half Off Cat Adoptions Through the End of August
The Vanderburgh Humane Society has a problem. An adorable problem, but a problem nonetheless. They are currently overrun with cats and kittens. When Executive Director, Kendall Paul stopped by Thursday to introduce us to this week's Pet(s) of the Week, which just so happened to be kittens, she said they are currently housing roughly 325 kittens and cats, and they are struggling to find space for all of them. Development Coordinator, Amanda Coburn dubbed it a "Catnado," which I assume is much like a Sharknado, but much, much cuter.
In an effort to try and make space for other cats and animals the VHS is taking in, they are offering a half-price Catnado special on all sizes, ages, breeds, and colors of cats currently in their care. This means you can take home an adult cat for just $20 each, or a kitten or declawed adult for only $30. Plus, you still get all the perks of the normal adoption fee including spay or neutering, up-to-date vaccinations, and more.
As noted in the Facebook post, the special also applies to all cats and kittens currently living at River Kitty Cafe on the Main Street Walkway in downtown Evansville.
The VHS is open for animal viewings and adoptions Tuesdays through Saturdays from Noon until 6:00 p.m.
If you currently have a cat that isn't spayed or neutered and spends time outdoors, be sure to take advantage of the VHS's Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic.
