Vanderburgh Humane Society in Desperate Need of Wet Cat Food
The Vanderburgh Humane Society (VHS) has so...many...cats. Normally, "kitten season," as they call it, doesn't kick in until the Spring, but this year it seems that once it started, it never stopped with the shelter frequently taking in more cats and kittens than it's adopting out. This makes keeping a consistent food supply difficult. They're currently running extremely low on wet cat food and they're hoping you can help.
Vanderburgh Humane Society in Need of Canned Cat Food Donations
The shelter posted a picture on its Facebook page on Thursday evening showing only a handful of cans of wet cat food still remaining for the nearly 300 cats in its care (293, to be exact).
According to the post, "Friskies pate is an essential part" of the cats' diets and clearly more is needed.
If you happen to be doing some shopping over the next few days, consider swinging through the cat food section at the grocery store and picking up a few cans, or maybe a multi-can box to help the VHS feed the cats until they can find them homes.
Donations can be dropped off at the VHS during regular business hours which will be slightly different over the next few days due to the New Year's holiday. The shelter will be open on from 9:00 AM until 6:00 PM on Friday, December 29th and from Noon until 6:00 PM on Saturday, December 30th. It will be closed on December 31st, January 1st, and January 2nd.
You can also make a monetary donation through Venmo @vanderburghhumane.
