I'm going to go out on a limb and say your garage looks quite a bit like mine. Shoved into the corner, or pushed to the back of a shelf, there's likely a few paint cans with various levels of paint in them from the time you decided to repaint some room in your house three years ago. Or if you're a do-it-yourselfer, there's probably a few jugs of old motor oil you collected from the last several oil changes you did. Whatever the fluid is, it's there because you knew you couldn't just throw in the trash or pour it down a drain. So you sit it to the side and tell yourself you'll "get to it later," and that was three years ago. Well, "later" is here with the annual Vanderburgh County Tox Away Day this Saturday.

The yearly event will happen from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Civic Center parking lot on Walnut Street. Representatives from the Solid Waste District will be on hand during that time to take all those fluids off your hands and make sure they get disposed of. But they won't take everything.
