Currently all shelters in Henderson County are closed to the public due to an outbreak of Parvovirus.   Yesterday we saw Humane Society of Henderson County make a statement about the closure, and that they would be closed to the public for two weeks. The shelters are working extremely hard to stop the spread of the virus, and raise awareness about the importance of vaccinating your pets!

Here's what The Humane Society of Henderson County says about vaccinating your pets (scroll down to see an info-graphic of pet vaccine schedules):

Please vaccinate your animals!! This a recommended vaccine schedule for puppies. low cost vaccines clinics happen around Evansville frequently. This is so vital to the prevention of parvo and other diseases in our community! Currently ALL animal shelters in Henderson County are shut down to the public due to the parvo virus. AND disease is preventable by vaccinating.
Please pray for our staff and the staff of New Hope Animal Rescue as we all try to control this disease and protect the animals!

Please vaccinate your pets! And if you can please consider donating to the Humane Society and New Hope Animal Rescue to help them out as they are working tirelessly to help many sick animals.
