The white flag is out at United Caring Services and they anticipate that the flag will remain out for at least the remainder of the week. During a white flag situation, the shelter opens it's doors to anyone needing refuge from the cold. Last night, according to a post on Facebook, the shelter served 19 men, women & children. To assist in accommodating the influx of people staying, the facility is requesting the help of the community. If you would like to help, the United Caring Services are accepting hats & gloves in all sizes as well as towels and twin-sized sheets & blankets. There are other items needed as well. You can find a complete list by visiting UnitedCaringServices.org.
