Drivers in these Indiana cities need to chill. Do you think you know which Indiana cities are among the worst in America for road rage?

According to CNN Health, road rage incidents have surged 500% since 2016. What could cause the road rage? If I am basing it off of factors that we see a lot here in Southern Indiana, I would assume that a lot of these incidents could be attributed to construction, slower drivers, and drivers who aren't paying attention because they are on their phones. Or perhaps, the driver just had a bad day. There are several factors that could come into play when it comes to road rage.

Angel Reyes and Associates analyzed a hundred US cities to find the country’s road rage capital.  Here's how they did it:

The study analyzed commute length and dissatisfaction in the biggest commuting cities in the US, as well as violent road incidents, from reckless driving to hit-and-runs and shootings.

Aggressive or violent motorists range from verbal insults to physical violence. According to Angel Reyes and Associates, road rage isn't always caused because of another person. It involves traffic, weather, construction, and a person's own anxiety levels at the time. That being said, Houston, Texas, is the road rage capital of the country. However, Indiana was not absent from the list of worst cities for road rage.

Two Indiana Cities Among the Worst for Road Rage

According to Angel Reyes and Associates, Indiana is home to two of the worst cities in the country for road rage. It may or may not come to a surprise to you that Indianapolis and Fort Wayne both made the list. Indianapolis came in at number 41, while Fort Wayne came in at number 69.

Whatever the reason behind it, drivers need to take a chill pill! All of that anger could lead to something bad happening on the road that could injure yourself or others. If you find yourself in a tense situation that causes you to develop road rage, simply back off. Take a different route to avoid the situation. If you find yourself feeling threatened on the road by a driver experiencing road rage, you are encouraged to call 911. Try to get a description of the car and report the aggressive behavior.

16 Indiana Towns with Dirty-Sounding Names

A majority of these towns were given their names in the mid-to-late 1800s as settlers making their way across the country found unclaimed plots of land and decided to make them their own. While I imagine they thought the names they came up with were innocent, and perhaps a tribute to something in their lives, pop culture has warped our minds to the point since then that we can't help but think of something about the town that was never intended by its founders. Take a look at this list. I guarantee there's at least one name that will make you chuckle.

According to High School.com, there are 682 high schools in Indiana. 555 of those are public schools, while the remaining 127 are private. A majority of those schools have chosen typical mascots to represent them, like eagles, tigers, lions, jets, patriots, and so on and so forth. But, these 30 schools decided to go, well, a different direction.
