Indiana towns have been a hot topic lately. When it comes to Indiana, we have no shortage of small towns with a few big cities scattered in there too. There are places with great reputations that are drawing a lot of visitors and new residents. Likewise, there are places in Indiana that folks want to avoid altogether. This article will focus on the latter.

According to the article, these towns were chosen because they face significant challenges in terms of economic opportunities, crime rates, education, and overall livability.

Money Inc. goes into great detail to explain why these are the worst cities in Indiana. In fact, they even expanded their list to a total of 20. Did the top ten, however, surprise you in any way? Now, with this in mind, what one person considers a horrible place to live, another might consider their favorite spot in the world. I'm just glad that nowhere in Southern Indiana made the top ten. A majority of these towns were given their names in the mid-to-late 1800s as settlers making their way across the country found unclaimed plots of land and decided to make them their own. While I imagine they thought the names they came up with were innocent, and perhaps a tribute to something in their lives, pop culture has warped our minds to the point since then that we can't help but think of something about the town that was never intended by its founders.
