While November is usually the beginning of the holiday season, it's also when the weather in Illinois officially starts to feel closer to winter than fall.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over this if I were you (yet), but Illinois is being warned to brace itself for a major winter storm that is allegedly coming for one specific week in January of 2025.

March 19, 1948 should have been like any typical morning in these Illinois communities. An incoming storm system had other plans. By the time most would wake that morning, a monster tornado had nearly wiped away 4 Illinois towns completely and took 60 lives.

St. Louis, Missouri can't seem to catch a break from the weather. Another round of thunderstorms going through the metro area has caused yet another scene of flash flooding showing a suburb underwater - again.

If you have lived in the Midwest as long as I have, you have no doubt seen some incredible lightning displays. But, I bet you've never seen a bolt as massive as the one a photographer just captured on video with his drone over Missouri.

Someone likely needed a change of pants after this. A fisherman stayed out on the lake a little too long after a thunderstorm moved into his area and came THIS close to a lightning strike in the lake just in front of his boat as his video shows.
