The end of summer traditionally means a decline in blood donations. The American Red Cross will be hosting the 'Labor of Love' blood drive this Monday, September 17th from 10am-6pm at the Red Cross facility on Stockwell Road at the Lloyd Expressway.

In light of this morning's deadly outbreak of tornadoes throughout the midwest in which at least 13 people have been killed, now would be  good time to make sure you and your family are prepared for an emergency, especially a natural disaster.

Most of the tri-state are is under a heat advisory warning to day and tomorrow with temperatures soaring into the upper 90's and the heat index being somewhwere between 105 and 115. As a result, the Red Cross will open cooling stations today and tomorrow to assist those who need to cool off...
