Southern Indiana Christmas Light Display Named Best in the State
One popular Christmas light display here in the Evansville area was recently named the best in the state of Indiana.
As you know, there are so many Christmas light displays throughout the country. Here in Indiana, we have a lot...especially in southern Indiana. These light displays have become traditions for families to visit once or even multiple times every year. The website, Travel and Leasure, recently put together a list of the best Christmas light displays in each state. When it comes to Indiana it's one that we here in the Evansville area have visited a few times throughout the years.
Best Christmas Light Display in Indiana
So, what is it? Well, it's quite fitting to be named the best in Indiana because it can be found in the most Christmasy town in the state, Santa Claus. Yep, it's the Santa Claus Land of Lights. Here's what Travel and Leasure had to say about the Santa Claus Land of Lights:
As you might expect from a town named Santa Claus, this community in Indiana really goes all out for Christmas. The main event is a three-weekend-long <a href="https://santaclausind.org/events/santa-claus-land-of-lights/" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-component="link" data-source="inlineLink" data-type="externalLink" data-ordinal="1">Santa Claus Christmas Celebration </a>that includes the story of Rudolph told in brilliant LED lights over a 1.2-mile drive at a place called — wait for it — <em>Lake Rudolph</em>, a popular RV park and campground run by Sun Outdoors.
The Santa Claus Land of Lights is currently open now through December 4th on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Then on December 9th through December 26th, it will be open nightly (Closed on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day).
