The Sandy Lee Watkins Songwriters Festival is coming to Henderson July 29th-August 1st and there are 30 great Nashville songwriters coming in to tell their stories.  Today we had the chance to talk to the writer of number one country hits, Wynn Varble.

Wynn Varble, though he grew up in Georgia, has roots right here in the Tri-State, as his dad is from Owensboro.  It's the country lifestyle and roots that have been the influence in writing big country hits.  His latest big number one and award-nominated hit was Easton Corbin's "A Little More Country Than That."  Wynn also wrote the touching Brad Paisley hit, "Waitin' On a Woman" along with the seven-week number one for Darryl Worley, "Have You Forgotten."

Most recently, Wynn had 3 cuts on Garth Brooks' new album 'Man Against Machine' including the song 'Mom.'
