Super Typhoon Sinlaku Strikes Island, Evansville Teacher Currently Teaching On

Kristi Price has been teaching your children in the tri-state area for over eight years, primarily as a substitute or contract teacher. Price taught primarily at Highland and Hebron Elementary schools in Evansville, but has taught throughout the tri-state, which led her to seek more. When the opportunity presented itself to teach at a school in the United States Territory of Saipan, Price couldn't pass it up. In the brief conversations I've had with Kristi, it's evident to me that she felt a higher calling to help these children. Doing the duty of her calling, Price is now reaching out and asking for help for these children as they piece together a torn community. The island of Saipan was recently hit by Super Typhoon Sinlaku, which destroyed the community Price is currently living and teaching in for the 2025-2026 school year. Her mission of education has now turned into a mission of complete rebuilding. Check out the pictures below of some of the damage to their community. If you are interested in donating, please see below for further information.

How To Help The Community Of Saipan

Kristi Price is reaching out to her hometown in desperation for help. The slow-moving storm that devastated the island hovered for three days with winds of around 155 mph. Here's what Kristi said about the damage:

"There are so many displaced families throughout the island. Many are living under tarps that were donated by Samaritan’s Purse. The people are hungry, and people are waiting in lines for hours simply for clean water. We are still without water or electricity. They say this could continue for up to 3 months.
Our campus is suffering as well. Our cafeteria was completely destroyed. Our playground was destroyed. Our chapel roof needs to be replaced. We lost many solar panels. And of course, mold and water damage in the library and classrooms." - Kristi Price
Donations made will go directly to the church and school, with all funds going to rebuild the campus. Donation information can be found in the image below. To see more images of the damage, destruction, and long road ahead, see below.
