Mayor Lloyd Winnecke and Evansville Water & Sewer Utility announced that a portion of Riverside Drive in Downtown Evansville will be closed next month. Riverside will be closed between Cherry and Shawnee for more than a week, in an effort to make repairs to a water line that serves half the city.

The Riverside Drive road closure is set to begin on April 2nd, and according to the Evansville Courier & Press, "the city hopes to have it reopened in seven to 10 days. There will be a marked detour in place, but city officials are encouraging motorists to avoid the area if possible."

Be sure to take not of this road closure and plan out a detour route if Riverside Drive is a part of your daily commute to work.
