Power Rangers Movie Review
Last night, I had the privilege to see the re-imagining of my favorite childhood television show, Power Rangers. Since the film was announced, I was beyond excited. I'm not joking with you when I tell you that the Power Rangers consumed my childhood. So, I kept a close eye on everything news related about this movie because I knew that I would be there opening night. I had to!
Like other Power Rangers fans, I was worried that this reboot would tarnish everything I loved about the show in the 90's. After watching it last night, I am here to tell you that I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it.
For me, it felt like the Power Rangers grew up, as like I did throughout the years. It was more edgy and less cheesy, unlike the original series. I think that is what I liked the most about the movie. Characters were relateable and it was set in a world that was more "real life" oriented than the show that I grew up on.
Now, I will not go into too much detail, as I am sure most of you reading this have yet to see this, but I will say that if you were a fan of the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, you will enjoy some of the references to that show in this film. I'm not going to lie, there were a few times that I got a little too excited in my seat when they paid homage to the original series. I'm sure if you loved the tv show like I did, you will too.
So, go in to Power Rangers with an open mind and enjoy it for yourself! As a fan, of course I had to wear a Power Rangers t-shirt to the movie, but I went one step further with that and wore something else too. To find out, click here!
