Panera Bread Converts to Grocery During COVID-19 Crisis
Restaurants nationwide have converted their business to a drive-through/takeout/curbside operation since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to that convenience, Panera Bread is now also offering grocery service as a way of not only helping communities but also enhancing its business which, like so many, has taken a financial hit in the wake of the crisis.
According to CNBC, the popular fast-casual chain lost about 50% of its business when restaurant dining rooms were ordered closed.
Now, Panera can assist the communities they serve by offering grocery items like produce, bread, bagels, yogurt, milk, and cream cheese--items you'd find, in some form or another, on its menus.
Groceries may be ordered on the Panera app or online.
