You will see a lot of weird sights throughout the Hoosier State, but this might be the weirdest of them all.

Indiana is full of fun attractions. Whether it be museums, theme parks, sports venues, historical locations, or being out on a beautiful lake, Indiana has a lot to offer residents and guests alike. We all have our favorite attractions to visit in the state. In the past, we have written articles about tourist attractions in Indiana. Recently, we covered the most underrated tourist attraction in Indianathe weirdest tourist attraction in Indiana, and the worst tourist trap in Indiana, to name a few. To keep up with that theme, let's have a little chat about what was named the weirdest roadside attraction in the Hoosier State.

Roadsides all throughout the country are sprinkled with attractions that are as odd as they are unforgettable. That's why the website Fifty Grande aimed to find the weirdest roadside attractions across the country. The site has a list of each state's weirdest roadside attractions, and most of them are quite bizarre. When it comes to Indiana's it's certainly odd, but it's also somewhat humorous.

Odd Indiana Landmark Crowned 'Weirdest Roadside Attraction' in the State

For many people, the first thought that comes to their head in terms of the weirdest roadside attraction in Indiana would most likely be the World's Largest Ball of Paint in the tiny town of Alexandria. However, according to Fifty Grande, the weirdest roadside attraction in Indiana is the Martini-Drinking Pink Elephant located in Fortville.

Here's what Fifty Grande said about this odd elephant:

With his bubblegum pink hue, oversized black glasses, and a classic martini glass clasped in his trunk, the 12-foot-tall elephant in Fortville, Indiana, has become both a friendly greeter to those visiting Elite Beverages and a local landmark since the 1980s. Especially since the advent of social media, it has become a favorite stop for selfies, drawing people from all over who are eager to snap a shot with this one-of-a-kind, cocktail-loving colossus. The pachyderm is a humorous nod to the old phrase “seeing pink elephants”—an expression once linked to tipsy imaginations. Around various holidays, like Christmas and St. Patrick’s Day, locals will dress the elephant up in seasonal garb.

Here's the thing: this elephant is not unique to Fortville or Indiana, for that matter. There are multiple pink elephants wearing glasses while drinking a martini in different parts of the country. Still, Fortville's famous pink elephant is one of the more well-known attractions in the state, and people will quickly stop to take selfies when they pass by.
