A popular Owensboro restaurant was just named the best all-you-can-eat buffet in Kentucky, and it's hard to dispute it.

I know that buffets sometimes get a bad rep from people, but I love them. In fact, I miss all of the buffets that we used to have when I was a kid. Places like Golden Corral, Siroloin Stockade, Ryan's, Old Country Buffet, and Ponderosa Steakhouse are prime examples of "you don't know what you got until it's gone."

When it comes to going out to eat, the price of a plate of food that doesn't even fill you up just isn't worth it. Buffets allow you to eat as much as you want. Something about "all-you-can-eat" just makes me happy, because it reminds me of my childhood. Nowadays, it seems like there are mainly Chinese buffets since all of the major ones have since closed. However, there are still quite a few different all-you-can-eat buffets throughout Kentucky. One website recently named the best all-you-can-eat buffet in each state, and the restaurant they chose from Kentucky is one that I have been to a few times. Trust me when I tell you that I couldn't agree more with their decision.

This is the Best All-You-Can-Eat Buffet in Kentucky

If you want to find the best buffet in the state of Kentucky, according to LoveFood, then you are going to want to make a trip to Owensboro. This western Kentucky city is the home of some of the best BBQ around, and BBQ is what this buffet is all about. The best buffet in Kentucky is none other than Moonlite Bar-B-Que Inn!

There isn't a single item on that buffet that isn't delicious. Might I add that Moonlite has some of the best Burgoo that I have ever had, too. Here's what LoveFood said about Moonlite BBQ:

A longstanding favorite in Owensboro, the self-proclaimed barbecue capital of the world, the Moonlite Bar-B-Que Inn has been running for more than half a century. It's consistently held up as one of the best barbecue joints in the state, with its barbecued mutton being a favorite among diners. A lunchtime and evening buffet runs Monday through Saturday (a brunch buffet is offered on Sunday), with hickory-smoked meats from pork to beef on offer every day. There are also shrimp and catfish fiddlers available on select evenings.

Now, I am craving some BBQ! Have you ever been to Moonlite BBQ? Would you agree that it is the best buffet in Kentucky? What other buffets in the state stand out to you?

How to Make Moonlite Black Dip

To make Moonlite black dip, mix all the ingredients below in a large pot and bring to a rolling boil. Skim the surface, if necessary. Cook the mixture over medium heat for 20 minutes then let it cool. It can be used as a baste or as a dip. It makes about three quarts.
