Preston Brust Shares Songwriting Secrets And More In Exclusive Q Crew Interview

The Q Crew morning show got the opportunity to sit down with half of Locash, a group most of you recognize as Locash Cowboys. Why? Because for many years, while the boys of Locash were grinding their way through Nashville, they spent a lot of time in Evansville. Preston Brust and Chris Lucas formed the Locash Cowboys in 2008 and, more recently, switched it up to just Locash. Smashing hits like "I Love This Life", "I Know Somebody", and "One Big Country Song" are just a few of the chart toppers that have gotten them to where they are today. The Q Crew recently had the chance to interview half of Locash, Preston Brust. He opened up about in-depth songwriting secrets, their connection to the Beach Boys, getting Stevie Wonder's impossible permission, WWE neighbors, and reminisced about the days of playing Casino Aztar. Check out the entire interview with Preston below.

Locash Songwriting Success Leads To Entrepreneurship

Locash knows everything there is to know about working your way up in the music industry, as they've been chugging along for decades now. So they thought, why not put our money where our mouth is? In 2024, Locash launched their own record label, Galaxy Label Group, and by 2025, had their first album ready for release on their label. That album? Bet The Farm, and its debut smash single was "Hometown Home", which went number one and then some. In today's world, a record deal isn't enough to help you become successful in the business. You need marketing, management, promotions, and more. In other words, you need help! Locash created a unique artist management and development group, in correlation to their record label, called Music City Power Company. Locash continues to climb that music mountain, and we can't wait to see where they're headed next! Want to reminisce with us? Check out this video from the days of Locash Cowboys, when they played Casino Aztar for New Year's Eve in 2007.
